Multiple Teams · Cavalier Boys Defense Carries Them To HHC Tournament Victory Over Taylor 63-30


Top ranked Cavaliers wasted no time jumping on the Taylor Titans Tuesday night in their opening round game of the HHC Tournament. The Cavs pressured the Titans into numerous turnovers and raced to a 24-6 first quarter lead. Substituting freely the Cavaliers took a 40-16 lead into half time. They held Taylor to 14 points in the second half to get to a 63-30 victory. This advances Tri-County into the second round for a rematch with the Rossville Hornets who defeated Clinton Central in their opening round game.
Bennie Patterson led the Cavaliers with 21 points, Nate Patton 16 and Bryce Cook 10 rounded out the double figure scorers. Riley Ewen chipped in 8 and Logan Waibel 5 added to a balanced attack. The Cavaliers are now 14-1 and 2 games away from a HHC Chamapionship. Tri-County will host quarter final games again on Thursday. Clinton Central meet Taylor at 6:00 pm EST and Tri-County will take on Rossville at 7:30 pm EST. The winners will advance to the finals at Clinton Prairie.
