The Tri-County varsity boys defeated both Kankakee Valley and Rensselaer to begin their season 2-0. On Tuesday (11/21) the Cavaliers took care of business early jumping out to a 24-8 lead after the first quarter. Tri-County continued their strong effort throughout the next three quarters defeating the Kougars by the score of 64-43. The Cavaliers saw three players end with double digit scoring, led by Bennie Patterson’s 17 points. Bryce Cook added 15 points with Kale Lawson contributing 11. Logan Waibel and Drew Moseley added 7 and 6 points respectively. Dalton Justice dished out 3 assists and grabbed 4 steals on the night. Tri-County also captured the Junior Varsity game by the score of 41-37.
On Friday night (11/24) the Cavaliers traveled to Rensselaer to take on the Bombers and were victorious by the score of 50-40. Bennie Patterson led all scorers with 29 points on 11 of 21 shooting. Sam Mueller added 8 points with Kale Lawson and Logan Waibel chipping in 7 and 6 points respectively. Lawson also pulled down 9 boards on the night with Mueller adding adding 2 assists and 4 steals. The JV teams also improved to 2-0 with a 46-38 win. Both teams are back in action on Friday night hosting the Rossville Hornets at 6:00 EST.
