Cavaliers News · Cavaliers lose a hard fought battle in Championship game

The Tri-County Cavaliers advanced to the Boy’s Sectional 50 championship game by defeating South Newton and Pioneer both in overtime.  Saturday night their luck ran out.  The Cavaliers took a 37-30 lead into halftime, but came out in the third quarter and were out scored 17-7 trailing 47-44 after the third quarter.  TC was unable to overcome that deficit in the fourth, eventually loosing 66-63.  Both communities came out to support their teams packing the Tri-County gym and giving the athletes the atmosphere that a sectional championship game should have.

Tri-County had 4 individuals reach double digits on Saturday night.  Bryce Cook once again led the Cavalier offense with 21 points.  Kale Lawson and Riley Ewen each finished the night with 13 points and Sam Getz scored 11 points on the night.  Dalton Justice and Logan Waibel both chipped in 2 points on the night.  Drew Moseley finished off the Cavalier scoring by hitting a free throw for one point.

Tri-County finishes the season with a record of 19-6.  Congratulations on another great year!
