The Lady Cavaliers used a 2-run first and second inning to pace themselves to a 7-4 win over Covington on Monday night. Chloe Auxier got the offense going in the bottom of the first leading off with a triple. Kinzi Brooks drove her in with a ground ball to short. Odyssey Whitcomb would later drive in Brooks to give the Lady Cavs an early 2-0 lead.
Tri-County would add two more runs in the bottom half of the second before eventually putting away the Trojans in the 6th by plating 3 runs.
Myah Alberts collected 3 hits and 4 RBI, one of those hits being a home run in her first varsity game. Junior Montana Jordan collected 2 hits for the Lady Cavs and scored one run.
Erin Hickle recorded the complete game victory scattering 4 hits, striking out 5 while giving up 2 earned runs.
The Lady Cavs are 1-0 and will take on Faith Christian at Remington Community Park on Tuesday night beginning at 5:00 EST.
