With the spring sports being cancelled, we would like to thank our spring senior athletes for all of their hard work and leadership during their four years of participating in Tri-County Athletics. You have definitely left your mark on your respective sports. We would also like for the Cavalier fans to get to know you a little better before you graduate. So, we thought we would have you fill out a short questionnaire about some of your memories of being a Cavalier.
Today’s senior spotlight is Blayne Vandeveer.
- What sports did you participate in while at Tri-County?
- What are your plans for next year?
I plan to attend Purdue University to major in Agricultural Economics with a minor in Political Science.
- What was your most memorable athletic moment while participating for TC?
My most memorable athletic moment was when we got to play in the U.S. Steel Yard baseball stadium, home of the Gary South Shore Rail Cats, for the chance at sharing the conference championship with North Newton.
- What will you miss most about being a part of Tri-County athletics?
I will miss the unpredictability of what can happen in games. There is always the chance to change the momentum in a game, and it’s in the moments where a sacrifice bunt or a single error in the field can create those opportunities that I find myself enjoying a game the most.
- What advice would you give to your teammates?
Find a way to motivate yourself and approach each play with a proactive mindset. By having the right mindset, it can help you to visualize your success and then set out to achieve any goals that you set for yourself.
