Cavaliers News · Tri-County vs Covington Update

Tri-County will host Covington on Friday night in varsity football.  The following has been sent to our athletic department by Covington’s athletic director and the Trojan athletic department.

As different schools in the area navigate Covid guidelines, E-learning, and athletic cancellations, the CT athletic department would like to give you an update on CHS and CMS athletic practices and contests as it stands today (Oct. 8, 2020).Even though we have gone to E-learning for academic purposes at CCSC, our athletic teams are still practicing and competing. Coaches will communicate with their student-athletes on practice times and competition dynamics.

If our situation would change, we will post notifications as quickly as possible to keep our student-athletes, their parents, and the community in the loop.

Mr. McCormick and Mr. Brown

Students and Parents,

Hope you all are doing well! Covington Community School Corporation is using our e-learning protocol from 10/8 – 10/14.

A few questions have come up with this protocol.

1. Will the student-athlete still have practice? Yes, we will still continue to screen the athletes as they enter the building while wearing a mask!

2. Will they continue to have events/games/matches? Yes, we will continue to screen the athletes as they enter the building or bus while wearing a mask.

Volleyball at Fountain Central on Thursday 10/8/2020 at 6:00 pm is still on. The bus is scheduled to leave at 5:00 pm.

Football against Seeger at 6:00 pm is still on. The coaches would like the players to be at the complex by 4:15 pm.

  • Must wear your mask at all times on the bus
  • Must wear your mask inside of school buildings
  • Must wear your mask while on the bench
  • Must wear your mask during warm-ups

If you have any questions in regards to athletics, feel free to contact me through email at
